Camp Best Friends
Washington Park is proud to serve as a Center of Hope for Camp Best Friends, an annual summer camp hosted at the park serving youth aged 5 to 17.
From the moment campers arrive each day, service leader interns guide campers in activities developed around the five (5) Centers of Hope Pillars: Academic Enrichment, Health & Fitness; Character & Leadership Development, Technology and Community. These experiences are achieved through integrated reading, sports, creative writing, games, drama, music, dance, arts and crafts, physical fitness and outdoor adventure.
As a site for Camp Best Friends, Washington Park is part of the Athletic Camps program, offering Swim and Tennis camp at various skill levels for children age 5-12. Experienced instructors, coaches and college athletes provide guidance according to individual need.
